Useful advice needs a clear basis.
How guides are made
We begin with a concrete reader situation: a short trip, a dress code, limited baggage space or a purchase that should serve several purposes. We explain the criteria, likely tradeoffs and what a reader should verify before shopping.
Research and experience
Our current guides combine original scenario-based editorial advice with publicly available information from official retailers, destinations and service providers. They are not presented as hands-on tests or personal travel diaries. Sources and a checked date appear in each article. We avoid unsupported prices, review counts and numerical product ratings.
Photographs
Licensed stock photographs illustrate real-life settings and wardrobe ideas. Their credits link to the original sources. They are not proof of a hotel stay, an author's identity or a product test, and we do not imply that a visible unverified item is a named retailer's product.
Shopping recommendations
Our shopping shortlists are starting points for comparison, not universal rankings. We discuss the practical reason to consider each option and a reason to hesitate. Current shopping links are ordinary merchant links. Commercial relationships, if introduced, will be explained in the affected articles and our disclosure.
Corrections and updates
Send the article URL and the detail requiring attention to hello@satinandsuitcase.com. We check material corrections against reliable information and update the affected text. Retailer availability and policies can change between editorial updates, so always check the current destination before purchasing.
